Treat yourself (and a friend) to a 2-hour training session with experienced British Cycling Coach, Charlie.

Together we'll review your strengths and weaknesses, developing and honing your skills and race tactics.

Skills covered: Riding position, climbing, descending, off-camber, cornering, dismounts and remounts along with race tactics and advice.

How to organise 

Find a time on the schedule and book your slot. Once you have made a booking I'll be in contact and we can agree on a convenient meeting point  - normally a cafe local to a park or woodland.

Meeting point

We can meet anywhere within a 30-mile radius of London, when scheduling a time please bear in mind that I'm coming from Brixton in SW London.

Once you have made a booking please contact me to arrange the finer details.

Group Size 

Although these are nominally 1:1 sessions, you're welcome to bring along a friend or partner

Skills Covered

Depending on rider level, we'll cover  Riding position, climbing, descending, off-camber and cornering, remounts, dismounts, carrying and shouldering, starts and race tactics.

Is my bike OK for this ride? 

Ideally, riders should have cyclocross or gravel bikes.

What do I need to bring?
  • Helmet (wearing helmets is a must on our rides)
  • Spare inner tube
  • Snacks and Water
  • Rain jacket (if required)
  • Suitably warm/cool clothing for the weather
  • Sunscreen (as necessary)
What's included in the price?
  • Experienced British Cycling Qualified (Level 2 CX disciplined specific ) for the session 
What's not included in the price?
  • Reasonable travel expenses - the cost of these will be agreed upon before the session takes place.

Superb bike handling skills set with Charlie

Had a superb 1-on-1 session with Charlie up in Epping Forest. He was so clear, patient and enthusiastic. I can't quite believe how much it has changed my cycling, especially cornering. Would really recommend to anyone looking to boost their skills.

CX session

This was my first coaching session for cyclocross so I didn’t really know what to expect.
Charlie was great, we started with a warm up, then moved on to my position on the bike. We then went on to cornering and then dismounting and remounting (which even in a short ish amount of time I felt I’d made pretty good improvements with Charlie’s advice). We finished off with some off camber techniques, steep short hills, shouldering the bike and powering through deep mud.
I learnt so much and gained in confidence, I’m really looking forward to trying out my new skills in my next race.

Great morning negotiating muddy tracks

The 2 hour session flew by! Charlie was able to tailor the session to both of our differing abilities really well. He is able to demonstrate and explain the the techniques really clearly and plenty of time is given to practise them. We left feeling much more confident to tackle muddy tracks including hills. Brilliant Training day

I learned so much from a day with Charlie in Crystal Palace. We worked on cornering, off- camber, dismounts and remounts, climbs and drop offs and starts. Charlie has a great way of breaking down each element and then building up gradually to the full manoeuvre.
Overcame some fears and took away a list of things to keep practising.
Will be returning soon!
