Ride Description
Exploring the Tillingbourn Valley nestled in an AONB in the heart of Surrey. Starting from Esher station the route quickly enters the maze of bridleways gradually climbing the Downs past Polsden Lacey to Ranmore Common before a steep gravelly descent to the valley floor.
The route then follows the line of the Tillingbourne upstream woodlands and heathland passing the chocolate box villages of Arbinger Hammer and Shere.
Climbing back up the Downs on the ancient London Road (a byway) the route crosses the heath and woodlands with some glorious steady descents to Effingham before returning to Esher Station.
Fitter riders can knock this one out in 3 hours, however, if taken a gentle makes for a beautiful all-day adventure.
