Landrace to Bognor
Gravel/CX MTB bikes | 130 km | 1300 | 65% Off Road
Date: Wednesday 16th July.
This is a tough one — and here’s why: the majority of the route winds along singletrack and woodland trails that take you up and over Leith Hill, the highest peak in the Southeast, before continuing across the South Downs. It’s lumpy, beautiful, and a proper challenge.
Starting from Cyclefit’s Store Street location, the route heads west, leaving London via Hampton Court and following bridleways through Surrey. There’s a coffee stop in Claygate, and lunch awaits at in a pub near Cranleigh, after the thrilling descent from Leith Hill.
The long afternoon stretch takes you along the Snake Path, weaving through the woods as you cross the South Downs. Then it’s a final flat-out charge across the coastal plain to well-earned fish and chips by the sea.
Highlights:
- Leith Hill Summit – The highest point in Southeast England with stunning woodland climbs and a rewarding view at the top
- Miles of winding trails and byways
- Cross the South Downs Way
