August, time to escape the every day and discover something new…
Join me on one of our relaxed easy-going bike rides and discover some of the Hidden Wonders that are lurking so close to you.
Happy Valley, say no more! This ride takes you along an oasis of beautiful chalk downland, uncovers the route map to Purgatory and some pretty fab views of the Weald and distant South Downs. It’s an 18-mile loop, with convenient Sainsburys ready to be raided for supplies for a picnic in the meadows.
Alternatively, why not consider a family outing to the Lavender Farm? This is a gentle 14-mile round trip starting in Streatham that explores the Wandle Valley before winding through woods to the Mayfields lavender farm for lunch.
Too much countryside? Explore London’s Maritime secrets on our Tidal Time Traveller ride, 16 miles on flat cycle paths linking the historic with the regenerated, see London’s remaining tidal mills, Dickensian cobbled streets, enjoy mud larking, take a trip on the cable car and visit the overlooked wonders in Greenwich and best of all, if you don’t have a bike, you can do this ride on a Boris Bike!
Need a bit more of a workout? Try the more strenuous Fickleshole route that winds its way through ancient woodlands and pastures of Bromley and Croydon,
“really? Bromley and Croydon that just a load of sprawling suburbia isn’t it? “
“ err no, this frequently overlooked patch of glorious green belt countryside is a remarkably peaceful and bucolic part of Greater London. Join this ride and discover it for yourself”
How a look at our calendar of rides we're hosting this August and bring your family and friends along, I bet you’ll discover something new and totally unexpected, you always do when you’re on your bike!
