Landrace South Downs Way
Date: Friday 19th June
Ride Level: Black - Expert
Gravel/CX | Guided and supported | Natural, Gravel and Single Track | 162 km/100 miles | All day
The South Downs Way doesn't need an introduction, it's legendary in the off-road cycling world, we'll be riding the full 100 miles and climbing over 12,000ft in the process is a legendary challenge not to be underestimated.
The route is almost entirely off-road and covers the complete length of the beautiful South Downs National Park. The route itself is generally well-maintained and includes some challenging techy climbs, broad swooping descents with fabulous views across the Weald and the South Coast, it's justly renowned as some of the best off-road riding you'll find in Southern England.
Best to ride with a tail wind, so depending on the wind direction, we'll catch the first train out of London to either Winchester or Eastbourne, grab a quick coffee and head for the hills, stopping for 3 trail side cafe stops along way.

Is this ride for me?
This is a seriously challenging ride, to complete the route in a day, you need to be a fit rider with good off road skills capable of maintaining a 18-20 kmph average speed with a lot of climbing...
Is my bike OK for this ride?
The route can be ridden on gravel or MTB. There is debate as to which is better, personally, I believe an MTB is the best option for this route.
