Friday 23rd May
A fast-paced gravel day ride starting from Cyclefit's Store St shop, heading through Southeast London to connect with the Pilgrims' Way. The route then crosses the North Downs and continues towards the Kent coast, finishing at the seaside town of Whitstable.
Intinerary
Meet at Cyclefit’s Store Street shop before setting off on an all-day ride heading south. After a climb up Crystal Palace, we leave the city behind and transition to mostly off-road riding, hacking through beech woods carpeted with bluebells.
A well-deserved coffee stop awaits in Shoreham before continuing the journey.
Back on the bikes, we join the Pilgrims' Way, an ancient pathway offering a scenic mix of quiet lanes and gravel tracks.
After crossing the River Medway, we'll pause for lunch in the historic village of Old Aylesford.
After lunch, we'll continue cruising along the Pilgrims' Way before tackling some challenging byways as we cross the North Downs, making our way towards Faversham.
It's Magwitch country for the final push across the marshes, leading us to the coast and our destination, Whitstable.
