Kent Coast to Coast Ride – Thames to Channel
An exhilarating coast-to-coast ride across Kent — from the Thames to the English Channel. This scenic route takes you through industrial riverside paths, open marshlands with sweeping views, the rolling North Downs, fruit orchards, and finally to the sea.
Led by Charlie, this is a fast-paced small group ride, averaging 17–20 km/h, with brief stops for coffee and lunch.
We'll meet in Greenwich, following the river through the industrial hinterlands, before reaching the wide, windswept marshes. From there, we’ll climb over the North Downs, joining the historic Pilgrims Way.
Skirting around Ashford, we continue on quiet country lanes, descend past the zoo at Lympne, and follow the Military Canal to reach the coast — a true coast-to-coast adventure across Kent.
Highlights:
- Desolate wastelands of the Thames Estuary and QE2 Bridge.
- Fast stretches of gravel on the Pilgrims Way
- A fun downhill past the wildlife park at Lympne — keep an eye out for the giraffe!
- Coast path into Folkestone
