Ride Level: Moderate

CX/Gravel or MTB | GPX Route | Single track | Some hills | 27miles/ 43 km | 4 to 5 hours

The woods around Broxbourne are just fab - filled with flowing gravelly tracks and trails and make for a fantastic ride!

Plan to ride the route over a day, stopping in pretty Hertford which is packed to the gunnels with good places to eat and drink.

Description

With a starting point of Enfield Lock station, you'll quickly leave east London's suburbia behind, as soon as you enter the Forty Hall Park you've escaped!

Ride through Goffs Oak, which sounds nicer than it is btw and into Wormley Woods, which are conversely way nicer than they sound, you'll be following a decent flowing gravel path - what more can you ask for?

Run down the Morgan Walk, a fine avenue and into Hertford, which has a charming little castle and a load of cafes and bars.

Heading south out of town, you'll pick up Ermine Street, first on the tarmac, then badly maintained tarmac and finally glorious gravel which you follow down to Cheshunt.

Gets a bit wiggle through Cheshunt as you make your way south back to Enfield Chase.
