Path to Bath
Three days of adventure
2nd-4th August
Three days of perfect gravel riding from London to Bath staying in comfortable hotels along the way.
Day 1
Leaving London behind you going to be challenged with long flowing descents, sandy heathlands and beautiful woodlands all the way to Alton
Day 2
Day's theme is old roads, the Ox Drove to Alresford, Pilgrim route 'Camino des Ingles' to Winchester and finally the Roman Portway into Salisbury.
Day 3
Pass Old Sarum before passing a stones throw from the magnificent Stonehenge.
Crossing the wild Salisbury Plain with its open skies and rustling grasslands, before joining the Kennet and Avon Canal for an easy run into Georgian Bath.
For the foolhardy, there's the optional climb into Bath thought the Coombe tunnel.
The countryside was so varied and beautiful, the riding was exciting, challenging and great fun. Some of the climbs and descents were very technical but the thrill from meeting the challenge felt good.
