Ride Description

Starting at Anerley Station (London Overground) the route park hops its way to Hayes and then on to Hayes and Keston Commons – please follow the bridleways on these commons, they are not marked on any map so the route may not necessarily follow the paths on the ground – sorry.

Skirting around Holwood Park, along Bogey Lane to the first steep gravelly climb through Cuckoo Wood the next 3 miles are a series of climbs and s descents leading out towards Knockholt.

Recover on the tarmac to the top of Old Harrow Lane, a gravelly flinty gullied descent and climb before re-joining the road to cross Westerham Hill. There’s an interesting ride down the Downs ridge to join Pilgrims Way. A bit of classic gravel leads on the chalky Titsey Hill off-road climb.

Past Tatsfield, there a series of challenging sections on a wide variety of surfaces, note, the bridleway from Beddlestead Lane onwards is a tad overgrown but it’s worth the persevering as the descent and climb are worth it.

Take the opportunity of riding the gravel descent of Slines Oak both ways – climbing is a true test of your skills!  The route ascends to Warlingham before winding back towards Addington with the last major effort up the technical climb in Three Corner Grove.

From here the route follows a series of woodland paths with a short challenge in Spring Woods and an easy return to Anerley Station.

This route works equally well reversed.
